Seeking unencumbered acreage
We want to acquire at least 5 acres of private land. Lanai Cat Sanctuary is 4 acres and we could do a lot with that, but we want to be able to scale up to support Oahu's larger number of cats, shelters, rescues and agencies.
Our ideal property has basic utilities, is away from sensitive habitat and is accessible to tourists. We have had many conversations with government leaders about leasing public land, however the bureaucratic process is slow and arduous
Seed Money & Sustaining Funds
Are you a professional fundraiser who can advise us on engaging passionate philanthropists? Whether or not we need to purchase land, we will need a significant early investment to ensure that we have funds to operate for at least one year. Once we are open, we are confident that tourism will sustain us.
Though we will seek donated supplies, services and labor, we must plan for an annual budget of $1 million. Once we have cats in our care, failure is not an option!
